Our Favourite Places in Melbourne for FAB Weekend Away

FAVOURITE BAR
Embla
Embla is located at 122 Russell Street, right near the hub of Melbourne's Central Business district. Embla, although renowned for its diverse and ever-changing wine menu gives you the best of both worlds, with not only wine but also delicious food (if you’re feeling a bit peckish with your chardonnay).

FAVOURITE SUNDAY MORNING
Queen Victoria Market

Vic Market, as it’s known by the locals is an iconic historical and cultural location of Melbourne. The market first opened in 1878 and has been serving the people of Melbourne for more than 140 years. The stalls range from gorgeous artisan made breads, cakes & pastries to organic meat & fish, and even fresh ice-cream (cause let’s admit, we’ve all wanted an excuse to have a fresh pastry and ice-cream on a Sunday morning). You can also do food and educational tours for those wanting to learn more and divulge further into one of Melbourne’s iconic locations.

Favourite Breakfast Place
DeGrave Street
We LOVE DeGrave Street; a bustling laneway located just near Flinders Street Station, full of the feeling of everything Melbourne... aka street art, year-round alfresco dining plus lots (and lots) of coffee shops and fabulously delicious food. Try DeGrave’s Espresso, one of the longest-serving cafes in the laneway, a coffee lovers heaven or RMB Cafe Bar, open all day known for its Spanish Eggs and Pancakes .

FAVOURITE RESTAURANT
Il Solito Posto
Looking for a small, warm and intimate dining experience? Il Solito Posto is the place to try. This little Italian institution is located in a sub-basement on Collins Street, and is one of Melbourne’s most renowned and well-respected Italian Restaurants.

FAVOURITE HOTEL
Royce Hotel
If you want to stay somewhere cool and extra special, make a stop at the Royce Hotel on St Kilda Rd. Their rooms are spacious & super stylish. While the hotel is conveniently situated a walking distance from the City centre and the tram is right outside, there are also some fab restaurants just seconds away as well if you want a quieter night.

FAVOURITE BOOK SHOP
Readings Carlton
LOVE LOVE LOVE Readings. Located a short walk out of the city on Lygon Street,Readings has been an iconic location for Melbourne’s literary scene since 1969. It’s the perfect place to get lost in all the nooks and crannies and the most amazing selection of books about everything and anyone. And the staff are so knowledgeable on topics from music, film, books and children’s books so you’ll find whatever you need. A great place to spend an hour or so if you love books.
