WHERE TO STAY IN COLOMBO
Galle Face Hotel
The historic Galle Face Hotel sits on the water front of Colombo. It takes you back to the colonial days of Ceylon with its high ceilings, fabulous tiled floors and very roomy wooden old fashioned rooms.
Make sure you have a Gin ‘n’ tonic on the foreshore bar while they are changing the flag at sunset one night… it’s a tradition.
WHERE TO STAY IN TANGALLE
The Last House
The Last House in Tangalle… was the last house that reknowned architect Geoffrey Bawa built. Bawa was known as the father of modern Sri Lankan architecture.
He was known for fusing indoor and outdoor spaces…and the results are gorgeous if you’re lucky enough to stay there. Stunning colonial interiors stylishly finished with printed cushions and outdoor relaxed furniture. The gardens back on to a gorgeous deserted piece of Sri Lankan beach.

Topped off with a serene pool and a restaurant that serves divine food and has a fabulously stocked bar. We could have stayed here forever.
