A Journey to India: Shooting Desert Flower

Come behind the scenes with our first ever photoshoot in India.
The new Desert Flower pieces felt like the perfect reason to finally take the plunge and do a photoshoot in India, something I had always dreamed of. It was the ideal setting for this collection, as the designs were inspired by the floral cutouts in the walls of the famous Agra Fort in India.
The day of the shoot we started at around 5.30am to escape the heat of the day as by midday it was forecast to be 36 degrees with 95% humidity. We headed out to Amer Fort which is about 35 minutes from Jaipur into the countryside stopping briefly for cows and elephants crossing the roads.
We chose to do the shoot at a temple behind the famous Amer Fort as it was much quieter. The temple was gorgeous, built in the 15th century and made of red sandstone. The temple still houses families, goats, chickens, kittens and we met a friendly calf or two wandering around.
We spent hours wandering around the temple, searching through the endless possibilities of locations, looking for different angles and lighting. I particularly loved shooting under arches and amongst the geometric architectural shapes and stairs.
This shoot was really magical, unique and filled with history and culture. I hope you love the shoot, and the new pieces as much as we do.
