Our PETITE Huggie Style Hoops have a very special design that makes them practical in many ways. If you’re not familiar with this type of earring, please read the instructions on how to safely open and close this type of hoop earrings here.
All our bangles come in a size medium and large. We spend a lot of time getting the quality and materials right when developing our products and we want this to reflect in your experience. A sizing chart can be found here to help you find the perfect fit.
Have you lost half of a pair of Murkani earrings that you love and would like to still wear? We would love to help. We want you to enjoy your jewellery for as long as possible, and sometimes the dog might chew one or you drop one down the drain. If you have lost one of a pair, we are happy to replace one earring at the price of 50% of the full current price.
Please note that Murkani Jewellery is handcrafted and our Yellow Gold and Rose Gold plated pieces are hand-dipped, which can result in slight variations per batch. We endeavour to ensure all plated pieces are always the same colour but cannot guarantee this due to the handmade nature of our production process.
Please contact us on info@murkani.com.au to check that replacement is an option and we will quote accordingly.
Material Care
Sterling Silver naturally tarnishes when exposed to moisture and oxygen in the air. This tarnishing effect on the surface of the jewellery can be removed easily by buffing with a silver jewellery cloth or using a silver liquid cleaning product like Goddard’s Silver Cleaner or Connoisseur’s Liquid Silver Cleaner. To clean the jewellery, follow the instructions on the packaging in terms of how
long to dip the product into the liquid cleaner as this time may vary from brand to brand of liquid cleaner.
To prevent tarnishing, please store your silver jewellery pieces in an airtight jewellery box, pouch, or a plastic zip-lock bag. We recommend using zip-lock bags. They may not be glamorous, but they stop the oxygen getting in and prolong the true silver colour of your jewellery.
A natural way to prevent tarnishing on your Sterling Silver jewellery is to wear it often because the oils in your skin help prevent tarnish. Please note that Sterling Silver is a very soft material, so we suggest being gentle and using non-abrasive cloths when wiping it.
Connoisseurs Jewellery Cleaner for Sterling Silver is available on our website. Click here to view the product. Use only for sterling silver, and not on our semi-precious stones.
Gold plating is a process where layers of real gold are applied to the surface of a different material. In our case, we use a 2 micron 18 KT Yellow Gold and Rose Gold plate onto brass. While we use an excellent hand plating process with a 2-micron gold plate which is very long-wearing, it is still a plate and hence could wear off eventually as it is not solid gold.
To take care of your gold-plated jewellery and to maximize its lifespan, follow these simple tips:
• Do not wear your gold-plated jewellery when doing activities that involve heat or moisture, such as any activities involving chlorinated and sea water, exercising and anything else that would get your jewellery wet or exposed to extreme heat.
• Apply lotion and perfume before your put your jewellery on. So your jewellery should always go on last.
• Store your gold-plated jewellery separately to avoid scratches.
• To prevent tarnishing, please store your gold-plated pieces in an airtight jewellery box, pouch, or a plastic zip-lock bag. We prefer plastic zip lock bags. They may not be glamorous, but they stop the oxygen from getting in and prolong the gold colour of your jewellery.
• To clean and restore the shine to your gold-plated jewellery, you can use jewellery cleaning cloths that are intended for plated jewellery or have it serviced by a professional jeweler. You can also use a Gold Jewellery Cleaning Liquid like the Connoisseur Gold Jewellery Cleaning Liquid, specially designed for gold plated jewellery. Available here

Pure Topaz is colourless and sometimes mistaken for diamonds. To keep your White Topaz colourless and shiny, avoid exposure to extreme heat and keep away from direct sunlight, as irradiation will dull the stone’s colour. White Topaz is sensitive to chemicals and acids found in cosmetics and hair products. Remember to always put on your White Topaz jewellery last, after you have styled your hair and applied your make-up. Never apply lotion or use hand sanitiser while wearing White Topaz jewellery. For cleaning, it’s important to avoid steam or ultrasound. Slightly warm water and mild dish soap works best. After you’ve rinsed it in warm water, pat the piece dry using a soft cloth. You can use a soft toothbrush to clean the stone if required.

We recommend not wearing your Huggies in the shower as they may get a build of shampoo and conditioner being the stones which can cause discolouration.
Black Spinel is known as a tough and durable gemstone, making it perfect for everyday wear. When cleaning your Black Spinel jewellery, always use warm soapy water, rub the stones with a soft cloth or soft toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soapy residue. Use a soft cloth to dry the gemstone. Et voilà!

Pearls and Mother of Pearl are naturally soft and react considerably to acid, alcohol and even sweat. If possible, wear your perfume and beauty products in areas that won’t come into contact with your Pearls and Mother of Pearl. If you’ve accidentally got your Pearls exposed to something acidic, wipe them immediately with a damp soft cloth. To clean your Pearls and keep their lustre, carefully clean each Pearl or Mother of Pearl piece with a soft cotton cloth dampened in lukewarm soapy water, using a gentle, natural soap. When all the dirt is removed, wipe off the soap with a soft cotton cloth dampened in lukewarm water. Don’t use ultrasonic or steam cleaners on Pearls and Mother of Pearl as vibrations and heat can damage the nacre (the pearl shine). Store away from other jewellery to avoid scratches.
