Lost and Found
The new MURKANI X HAGAR Lost & Found collection was developed with the intention of helping Afghani women in need. The Afghani women’s movement was put back 20 years after Kabul fell in August 2021 because women and girls were no longer permitted to go to school or work outside the house. 720 families in Kabul are the focus of the Livelihoods Project, which was established by HAGAR International to support these women and their families. These women will either receive assistance in starting their own small business, be invited to join a family-owned cooperative, or be offered the chance to find employment.
This collection was inspired by the amazing and enigmatic tale of the discovery of the Tillya Tepe treasure hoard which was found in Northern Afghanistan and features over 20,000 pieces found across 6 tombs. The key themes of this collection include those of Courage, Love and Renewal, with each design being inspired by ancient pieces from the Tillya Tepe Collection.
$10 from each necklace sold in this collection will be donated to the Hagar Afghanistan Livelihoods Project.
